We moved in, arranged (and rearranged, at least 4 times) looms, built up the big looms, had an open house, got a working doorbell AND have a classroom space we are pleased to rent out for fiber-related activities.
Now we are just going to weave for awhile.

We are in our new location at 4701 SE 24th, Suite Z.
The easiest way to get there is, heading south on SE 26th, from SE Powell or SE Holgate, turn right onto SE Schiller (1st street south of Holgate) and continue until it dead ends at SE 24th. There is street parking, but do not park in any reserved spaces or in front of any gates or loading docks. Also, don't park in front of the chain link fence on SE 24th; it blocks the semi trucks.
But - continuing past the dead end, up the ramp (you'll see an awning with "Aluminum Head Rebuilders"), Ruthies is the door on the right. There is a sign. Currently you need to call the studio or knock loudly on the door; our doorbell is not quite ready.
If the gate is closed, and we should be open, again, call the studio; we'll let you in.
Inside you will find all the looms and supporting equipment. The warping area is set up, as are most of the looms.
The library is unpacked and set up. We have a comfy sofa (new to us) and our squashy chair. It is very welcoming.
The classroom is still the wood shop, but that will clear out pretty soon.
The kitchenette and bathrooms are also fully operational.
The dye kitchen is still a work in progress.
So exciting!

We WILL BE MOVING, just not on September 1. Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
All the big looms have been dismantled, the library is packed, and other packing is ongoing.
Stay tuned.

We have signed a 5 year lease on 5000 (!!!) square feet at 4701Z SE 24th. The space will not be ready until September 1; it housed a cabinetmaking shop and all the equipment still needs to leave. It will be thoroughly cleaned, painted, and the concrete floor sealed. We will have classroom space, a kitchenette, shared access to 2 bathrooms, and a space we are pleased to call the dye kitchen. And more room for the looms! All the looms!
